Was having a Xmas party at my house, and the nephews brought over their wii game....well ...my brother in law got a little too enthused playing bowling and let go of the remote...bang right into my 2 month old 50" Samsung plasma TV screen!
The picture went black and all you can hear now is sound emanating from it..
When its first turned on you can see the static “snow” flash for a second and that’s it...
I was told that there is a “plasma” gas in between the sheets of glass and that it escaped when the crack occurred...in no uncertain terms the tv is shot......or is it...
Thanks to all who respond
Mike

If you purchased with a credit card it may provide addt coverage, but I think "flying objects" will be a covered loss on most homeowner policies.
...If you have it you will be buying a new screen at minimal cost but if you don’t then you will be off buying another screen at the usual cost.

It'll help him pick out the new plasma he or his insurance company will be buying for you -- because your display is fried.
:-)
It gets interesting at the 1:15 mark.
It's toast. It will be cheaper to buy new than pursue a repair.
