3D Blu-ray compatibility issues

According to Sony the 3D BD disc specification will be backwards compatible, allowing 2D discs to still play on 3D Blu-ray players, as well as allow 3D discs to play on current market 2D Blu-ray players (of course only in 2D).
Unfortunately this is not true for some 3D Blu-ray discs such as the Clash of the titans for Sony 2D Blu-ray players. Are there more 3D BD discs with compatibility issues?

I just assumed 3D couldn't be played on a 2D player. Are there any movies on Blu-ray that are in 3D ONLY, with no 2D version available?

  If on the Blu-ray case is printed 3D Only then you need a 3D Blu-ray player otherwise the 3D Blu-ray disc can be used for replay on a 2D Blu-ray player for only 2D.

The Clash of the Titans is Blu-ray 3D only.
