I can only find 65" 3D TVs and am considering the one Costco has. But if there were still 2D ones, then they should be cheaper, but I can't find any. Does anyone know whether deals can be found for the 2D?
Thanks.

I have a 65" Panasonic plasma and love it. It is 2D. I have no interest in 3D but, if they keep making plasma sets, I'll buy one when it's time. I've never seen an LCD that matched the picture quality. They may well exist but I haven't come across any that do.

In their 2011 lineup, it doesn't look like it. All of the models that I looked at said 3D. You may find some non-3D 2010 models if you look around.
Most of the models in their Business division are still 2D, but these models cost more than their Consumer models.
I got the 3D one. It's pretty amazing in 2d.
In order to get 3D to work, panels needed an upgrade in the quality of the electronics and phosphors used in the display. Many of these upgrades, because they involve the entire panel, benefit the 2D experience as well. Even if you don't use or care for 3D (raising not just one, but both of my hands), improvements brought about from the panel being 3D capable carry over to the 2D presentation.
