Friend bought projector which had DVI-I connector.
Any adaptors to HDMI or other input? Projector is unusable in HD modes because it has only s-video or composit inputs, besides the DVI-I
He spent way too much money on that thing, used, and I'm reluctant to simply give him the bad news.....

Follow Ups:
I found local source for cable in question::
A company called 'Odd Cable'.
owner of projector has not told me, nor could I pry out of him, what was intended as the SOURCE of signals to the projector. Indeed, the question elicited confusion!
Man, Talk about technically challanged. If this guy wasn't the best haircutter I've ever had, I'd be gone.
Thanks all.

You can find reasonably priced HDMI-to-DVI cables at monoprice.com (see below). As for sound, most cable boxes, DVD players and Blu-ray players can output analog audio, if you need it, or digital via optical/coax if you want to send digital to a DAC (for just stereo) or a Home Theater receiver. Of course, you can always go HDMI to a Home Theater receiver and then HDMI-to-DVI to the projector.
compatibility/support:
DVI-A = analog signal only
DVI-D = digital signal only
DVI-I = analog and digital signals
The cables in the link below will work. The DVI side is digital only DVI-D, which your friend's projector will support.
Hi thereIf you guys have a PC that is no more than about 6 years old, then that PC probably has a DVI video output that can drive the projector's input. If you have a DVI-to-DVI cable on hand, then you can start seeing HD from the pj right away.

Go to Amazon.com and search on "DVI-I to HDMA"
There are adapters and cables with DVI to HDMA available.

Good idea.....dumb me.
I had been concerned since I saw at least 3 different kinds of DVI and I'm up in the air about compatibility.
Also, and this isn't the connectors problem, I need to get sound out of whatever the source turns out to be, so the audio outputs working while using the HDMI out is important.

I had similar issues with an older Plasma TV set that has a DVI input. While not exactly the same situation you face, I was able to run a HDMI to DVI cable from my Cable TV DVR box to the DVI input on my TV - AND - I was able "steal" audio from the analog RCA jacks behind the Cable TV DVR box.
