WalMart has a one-time deal for a 50" 720p LG plasma for $528 in their most recent mail ad (it's not online).

  I only look at prices in the US, so if there was a better deal in Canada I missed it.

    Just curious. It's only one of 2 things I've ever bought from the them, the other was a microwave (which was one of the nicest I've ever owned, better than my current much-more-expensive LG hood unit/microwave).

    Why would it be a joke? I bought my 50" Samsung plasma for less than $700 (in Canada no less where things are generally more costly).
