Low cost HD audio receiver?

Receiver fulfills only two functions in this application:
1. Decode HD Audio
2. Switch between two HDMI sources (three better but not mandatory)
I will employ speaker-to-line-level attenuators if receiver lacks 7.1 analog line-level output. No other function. Amplifier wattage/current irrelevant.
Please suggest makes/models and starting price range.

What do you mean by HD Audio? The uncompressed soundtracks on BluRay discs? High-resolution audio formats from a computer? SACD? DVD-A?

  Sorry...my intent, if possible, is to stream DD 5.1 from desktop computer to receiver via HDMI...the receiver would decode TrueHD and DTS Master HD from Blu-ray.

    Here in the frozen arctic wasteland of Vancouver Island, you can pick up a new Pioneer 5.1 AV receiver for about $250 on sale, with the features you're looking for.
    
    Check out the reviews at Amazon for receivers you're considering. Some models have had serious bugs. If there's a cheap way to extend the warranty (like using a particular credit card), use it.
