some of you helped me to learn about integrating my planned AV and TV into my 2 channel set.
We only have one room.
So would this unit YAMAHA DSP-E200 do it for me? One on AgoN. Seems to have power amp for center and back surround channels plus processing.
I have extra Hafler xl 280 stereo power amp, plus a pair of McIntosh tube amps, which need a going over.

That's $100 (plus shipping) that you can't put towards a real discrete HDMI surround A/V receiver or processor. You can pick up "Dolby Digital" A/V receivers at thrift stores for well under $100, which will be adequate for DVD (and other sources of lossy discrete surround). $250 will get you a new Pioneer A/V receiver which supports multichannel lossless over HDMI (Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master Audio), and will bring you into the Blu-ray era.
good suggestion
on ebay theres some used onkyo receivers. I found onkyo sr 805 7.1 130 watts hdmi & mch analog inputs 50 lbs rec for about $350.good luck ps thats what the specs say I dont own one I own the earlier non hdmi ones. they are nice receivers.

I dont remember seeing mch pre outs in the specs. you will need the stereo ones for your amp. I would suggest looking at specs on different receivers to find all that you need.

It basically derives the Center and Surround channels from a 2-channel analog source (ie, it's Matrix rather than Discrete). It will work, if that's what you want. The specs say it puts out 25 watts per speaker, which isn't very much. However, if you don't listen loud or have a small room, this may be a nice setup.
