Many people have Directv and have little or no problems.I was not one of those people.
I had bad service for a year and a half. Finally, a technician told me they could not get a good connection to the satellite from my property. He told me they would obviously not charge me a cancellation fee.
He called the office on his phone and let me speak to the person there. He also told me they would not charge me a cancellation fee. He told me they would send out boxes for my two receivers.
Two weeks later, no boxes. I call, again they say they are sending boxes.
One week later, no boxes. I call and am told they don't need to send boxes, they'll send envelopes for me to return the cards and that's all they need.
Two weeks later the envelopes arrive.
And I get a bill for $110 cancellation fee. I call and explain this to them AGAIN and they say they'll take care of it.
THEN THEY BILL ME THE $110.
These people are idiots. Liars. Thieves. They screw you as hard as they can and as often as they can.
Do business with them at your peril.

Typical....not just directv, most other TV and cellphone services
use the same M.O.,...they are "bill happy", and they don't give a
rip if you owe it or not, or get mad at them. I recently cancelled my
cell service and was paid up, yet they kept the service on and kept billing me. Went to collections, but not getting a dime out of me.
Collectors will give up if under a certain amount, not worth pursuing.
