I recently signed up on the CR website to get ratings on dishwashers. Poking around, I checked the ratings for TVs, and find that CR agrees with me. In every size category that plasma TVs exist, plasmas were the top pick (in some sizes, such as 60" and larger, and the 50" range, the top 4 picks are plasmas.) Also, in both technologies (plasma and LCD) Panasonics are the most reliable. Just for your information...

CR is at least good at compiling statistics.
Too much is never enough
I remember a few years ago when I was looking into getting a new flat screen I looked at the CR ratings and they rated the Pioneer Elite Kuro either 2nd. This was when every other publication was raving that the Kuro was the best. Then I looked at the fine print - CR did NOT test them with the HDMI, but component video inputs.
...but note that they list a number with each ratings table in which they explain that reliability ratings ___ points apart are not different from each other, which means that Panasonic's numeric advantage is not a real-world advantage over the brands just below it.
That IS amazing. CR finally got something right.
