I've never been a fan of LED's, but this one looks great.

No banding. No screen door effect. No clouding. No 'soap opera effect'. No weird motion effects. Just a great BIG picture.

I was concerned with going LED, but I have zero regrets. No worries about heat, image retention, reflective screen, can't play in light rooms, etc.

I can see why these are so popular.

Purchased a 42 in LED - Ross 19:36:59 09/07/12 (0)
earlier in the summer for use in a vacation home. It is mounted in a bright room. No problems with glare or wash out in bright ambient light. I did not see any motion artifacts, unlike the LCD units I compared it to. Colors are slightly over saturated but that's is about my only issue. Good purchase for the intended use.

LCDs look brighter, sharper, cleaner vs Plasma.

I bought my GF a 40" Samsung. It too has none of the problems earlier models have.

but my 50" Panasonic Plasma ( $1500 ) has none of the problems you listed.
