Can any tablet play a blu-ray movie loaded on to a SD card? The ones I looked at dont have SD card capability. Can any of them have a movie preloaded with a HD movie from a blu-ray player or computer HD? I know they do their best to eliminated any protected material from being loaded onto their tablets.
I want to watch movies while I'm camping and away from home and away from internet connections.
They sure make it difficult!!

Don't know if this helps, but my iPad3 (retina display) plays 1080p videos (.mp4 format) and they look great.

I think there's a Toshiba tablet that has both USB and SD ports. It's not inexpensive.
If you rip a Blu-ray to mkv, that will remove the protection. Try the beta version of MakeMKV, which is free.
Reducing the file to 720p should still look very good on a small screen, and drastically reduces the file size. I haven't tried doing that myself yet. It may be easier to just download a 720p version from a pirate site, which is ethical if not legal if you already own the Blu-ray.
I'm not sure if this answers your question but many Bluray movies come with a digital copy that allows it to be played on portable devices such as tablets. Though I'm not sure it would have the same resolution as BR.
