I'm making a change. Want some bookshelf speakers for the HT.
Max is $800. Got a sub. Typical stereo speakers are out, I've
been living with that compromise for a long time, and I'm tired of it.
Anyone heard the Polk LSi9? They've got some refurbs on Ebay cheap.
There's also Klipsch RB-81. I have some decent cabinet damping material,
I could rewire those and quiet the cabinet resonances.
Follow Ups:
I was very impressed with how they sounded with both music and HT. He's been spending a lot of time listening to music on them, a lot more than he expected to (he has a separate music only system with tubes and Magneplanar MMG's)
I believe he paid $600 for them.

I am not sure what you mean by typical stereo speakers...
Take a look at HSU HB1 Mk2s.
The pass the HT test and you can get a great deal on 'em.

they're on sale at Amazon for $299 each. I have them wall mounted in my media room (14x17x10) for FR, FL, and love em. They come with nice glass bases if you'd rather sit them on a cabinet. Of course you can also lay them on their side if you want to put them into a bookshelf.

Do I have to spell it out?
