I sure hope not. But I think I read the Samsung and Sony have given up their joint venture.
With plasma pretty much gone we need a new standard bearer for PQ.

Follow Ups:
Sony is like Microsoft, they do not want to pay royalties for another's patents. Sony has the OLED patents. Sony does not manufacture any flat screens in their own factories, everything is farmed out.
First they entered a partnership with San Sung and then Sam Sung bought out the joint factory (at end of 2013). That being said and done, they entered a partnership with LG with whom current production is based upon.
To many advantages for OLED not to make it, they are coming.
But then I was pretty sure that SED/FED was going to make it so I hope I don't have to eat my words!
LG is still committed to OLED.
The technology still has some bugs to work out, both with production and with function, but LG seems to be willing to work on it.
I just got a Panny ZT last year, so hopefully by the time it goes, both OLED and 4K technologies will have matured and solidified.

Your current video setup will be obsoleted in two years from when you purchased it. Of course, you will do well to keep it far longer. Stereo, however, never goes out of fashion, but only for music.
Right now there is growing 4K market, so the companies can be choosy. But I have no doubt in five years OLED will be here in force.
