Actually the Chromecast unit works quite well. The problem turned out to be the number of routers in my Apartment building here. The solution was to take the router off of the 'Auto' mode on the router and select a channel where there were very few routers using it. Once I assigned the router to a Fixed Channel, the buffering completely ceased.
The only downfall to the Chromecast is that it can only be operated wirelessly and that is why people have problems. If they had an Ethernet port, it would be a lot easier.Cut-Throat

I did see solution like get a new router, get a faster router, move the router closer, switch to the 5 GHz band, etc. I use and prefer ethernet for everything when possible.

I have a 16 port switch at the router and 4 or 8 port switches in other rooms for extra devices like TVs, Squeezeboxes, DVD players, printers, multiple computers. The only wireless devices are mobile iPhones and iPads.
