I bought a cheapo 19" computer monitor on craigslist and tried to hook it up this morning and ...DOH!!?? realized it has an old funky DVI (I think) connector.
Just using this to play internet radio in the office system. So, not worried about anything too performance oriented.
Here is a shot of the actual connector. Is this a standard DVI connector?
Will the Ebay converter in the link below work?
Thanks

I am trying to connect this monitor to a Mac Mini... which uses a mini display port to VGA converter.
The connector pictured goes to the Monitor. No Sound needed going to or from the Monitor.
I only paid $20 for the monitor,...so, want a converter cheap as possible.
The more information that you supply, the better chance of getting help.
Just a thought.
Does your computer, either via the motherboard or graphics card, have a VGA connector? The cable in that picture is DVI-D and does not output an analog signal. To get an analog signal, you would need a powered adapter capable of converting the digital video to analog video (VGA, from the info provided) or a graphics card (should you not have one) that outputs a VGA signal.
That looks like an DVI-D connector [I do not see 2 small pins on each side of the spade contact]. If I understand you, that connector is attached to a cable going to the monitor you bought. If so it will not work with a passive adapter like the one you linked to, to convert to VGA. DVI-D does not carrier an analog video signal or ANY audio signal (digital or analog). To connect it to a VGA connector on the back of your computer you will need a more expensive active adapter. If your computer has an HDMI connector you can use an DVI-D to HDMI passive converter/adapter to connect the monitor to your PC.
If the connector does have the smaller pins around the spade [I don't see any] it is an DVI-I connector and will work with the passive adapter that you linked to.
