So the young man who literally grew up with my daughters has moved back into town w/his wife & kids. Knowing about my love of music & home theatre stuff, he has asked me to help him assemble a home theatre system. His funds are very limited and after a brief discussion, here is what I am seeking info about: he can't afford a HT receiver and speakers, so I suggested maybe a soundbar (I also gave him a spare powered sub I had stored away). Without knowing yet which soundbar he may choose, in general, can a sub be hooked up to one and how (the sub has R/L line inputs), since most of the soundbars I've seen have only one line output. Now another POV, as if I haven't said enough. I have read that hooking up powered computer speakers to the tv can actually sound better than a soundbar. If that becomes an option, where/how do you hook those up, and can you still use the sub? Sorry for this lengthy & probably confusing post. Any help or opinions is/are appreciated. Dave

Follow Ups:
I use a ZVOX Sound Base which allows me to output to a sub.
That's a good U-turn on getting a sound bar.
Take a look at the Pioneer SP-SB23W. It sounds very good and uses a Bluetooth connection to a sub.
