For starters, all receivers are different.
First off, when discussing "zones", they are referred to numerically. i.e. Zone 1, zone 2, zone 3 etc. NOT zone and B.
Now, are you referring to A and B speakers? That's an entirely different question.
Finally, most receivers require a separate amplifier for any but zone 1, the first zone. Some can be configured to use some of the internal amps for zone 2.
EXACTLY which receiver are you tslking about?
In closing, what receiver has 6 internal amplifiers? A 5.1 channel receiver has 5(or more, in pairs)internal amps, a 7.1 channel has 7 (or more, in pairs).
What 5.1 receiver has 6 internal amps?
Enough truth?
Now, it's entirely possible you didn't state it clearly enough to be answered but, please, don't try to blame your ignorance and/or inability to communicate your thoughts clearly on me.
...and you wonder why nobody wanted to answer you? Wanna try again?

Why are you guys so hard to talk to? I am trying as hard as I can to be kind. I have many friends and have never been accused of being arrogant or hard to talk to.. You act upset if I say something wrong. I do not know everything, that is why I want to learn. The receiver I am thinking about is a HK AVR 7000, but I also have some other multi-zone receivers. No, I am not talking about A & B speaker switches. I thought a DVD had 6 audio channels? That is why I thought some receivers had 6 separate amps. Even if they have 5 amps (I am so sorry for not knowing this), which amps drive zone 2?
We're not hard to talk you. It's just that you don't understand the answers given and then try to lay the blame on us.A DVD DOES have six channels. Five are full range signals. which are the "5" that are played by the internal amps in a 5.1 receiver
The sixth, or the ".1", is the LFE channel which, if you haven't noticed, is generally played by a powered subwoofer.
As for zone 2, I answered that above. Sorry you didn't understand it.
Maybe someone else can get through to you. I'm done.

Every time I write to this or any asylum, I try to be as kind as I can, but always get raked over the coals for something I said wrong. Who is blaming who here? You claim you answered my last question about zone 2. I must be really dumb, because I do not read it anywhere. Ever heard of explaining things twice? This site is really frustrating. You claim we did not explain our questions thoroughly for you to answer, but do you explain your answer well enough for us? It seems like you think if you put us down enough it makes you "special" people. Better than us.
Who is this "us" of which you speak. I have no trouble communicating my thoughts with everyone else here and at other sites.
"We" can explain it TO you but we can't understand it FOR you.
Reread this thread again if you have any questions. The answers are in there.
Bye Felicia.
