I'm moving my home theater to a slightly smaller room.
I like to sit back pretty far from my tv and I'm thinking this might be a little big for this room.
So I'm thinking about maybe replacing my 65" panny with a 55" Oled.
Has anyone gone from a bigger to a smaller display? How'd that work out for you?
On the one hand I think the 55" might be perfect for the room, on the other hand I'd hate to say 'gee, I miss my old screen'.
I'm not a 'bigger is always better' kind of guy, mostly I want a good experience in the room.

I went from a 46" to a 43" with a viewing distance of about 14'. The difference is noticeable and annoying. I muss that 3"
That's what she said. :-)

fwiw
I went from a 45" 60" to a Samsung 85".
We went from 50" to 65" recently, what a great change. The 50" is now in our bedroom, perfect size for a bedroom to us.
The 65", a bit small, OK a fair bit smaller than we'd have if money were no object. I'd go at least 80" in our LR (around 15 1/2 x 17 1/2 feet, we watch along the length, so sitting at around 15').
In my big room downstairs we sit at around 15' also I think (room is 24', but the screen is a few feet in as is the main low couch), and a 105" drop down. With movies and TV it's great. Played video games once, just about got dizzy. In that case, I think too big (but only for games, which neither of us do).
How far will you be sitting from the screen is the important question?

It's tight.
We shall see....

I do wonder about whether I should be playing blu rays, though, when using the bigger screen.
Any opinions on this aspect?
I went 32, 40, 50 65. Can't imagine going smaller. I'm thinking 80 for the next one.:-)
