I'm not talking about made-for-streaming Netflix and competitors' films/programming (with what seems often like strange compression games), but rather meant-for-theater releases where cinematography matters--- and as large a picture as possible rewards in an aesthetic sense.(Disclaimer: if you watch a good bit of sports, that's perhaps reason enough to go big).

Sure do. 4k HDR when possible Be it streaming or via disc. Beats going to the theatre, imnsho.
Have moved the 65" LG to the 'man-cave' where the rest of the main system is - some streaming - but mostly DVD movies- and VHS...

Well, I watch movies in our house if that's what you mean. TV shows, PPV movies, movies that moved to cable, etc.
110" with HD PJ downstairs, 75" LG in the living room. Sometimes watch a flic in the bedroom, 50" Samsung plasma.
is like playing MP3 on a great hi-fi rig.
Well, as I said, I watch standard TV on them, but also PPV movies and movies that have landed on TV channels.
And even if it were "meant for streamed", if someone enjoys that on their large screen, no harm.
