So I've got a 4K blu-ray in my 4K player. HDMI into my receiver, and then into my 4K tv.
Is it 4K passing through the receiver? Or do you need a 4K receiver as well?

Follow Ups:
The easiest work around is to go straight from the player to the tv and use an optical cable from either. If your TV has an hdmi eARC port the only thing I have found that works is something called a SHARC. It will convert the newer audio codecs into something your AVR hdmi port can decode.

Run the HDMI from the player into the TV, and run another cable to the receiver for the audio. Either from the TV or the player.
