How can someone make the best ever film & then do something you can't even watch?????

I really liked a few of his films but the last one, with Matt Damon about two guys lost in the desert, I walked out on.
NOTHING HAPPENED apart from them saying, 'let's go west' or 'you go over there and I'll go over here'
