I utterly despise this film, as I do all of Wenders's work. It's a maudlin, hyper-emotionalist sap-fest of Spielbergian magnitude. Ineffectual angels who can do nothing but lay their oh-so-caring heads on the shoulders of the oh-so-oblivious, and life is all so sad, but also all so beautiful, and aren't we all so deep for recognizing this. Pathetic.
And god almighty how I hate The Birthday Party and it's offshoot bands featured here.

However, while I'll allow that Wenders is a very uneven filmmaker, I do like Wings Of Desire. Very much.
