    and or the military were laughably over the top. A better scriptwriter was needed for the last 10 minutes of the final act. That you, the ultimate critic, don't realize this, is mind boggling.

      a film. It's strictly by the numbers, yet it succeeds largely, I think, by Affleck's calm portrayal and that it is a "true" story.

        which were good) but felt the ending, as in the cars chasing the plane detracted and, was unnecessary. BTW, I may have exaggerated a wee bit when I said the car chase "ruined" the movie.
        
        I agree with you about Affleck's performance. I look forward to appreciating it again when the rental is available.
        
        As for this year's crop, based on the 5 nominated best pictures I saw, I felt they were all about ***&1/2 out of ****. Argo my least fav of the five (Django, ZDT, Lincoln, BotSW, Argo)

        fine and very suspenseful tale. It would be akin to Bigelow having Bin Laden pick up an AK and barricade himself in his room and fight the Seals for 10 minutes til some Rambo heroics by a Seal took him down. Like I said, JMHO, YMMV, yada yada yada...
