If you like old movies, this is a delightful comedy. The cast is superb but Mischa Auer steals the show as a Hollywood masher of the John Barrymore or Errol Flynn type.

Ball vs the somewhat serpent-like George Sanders. A cast of wonderful and recognizable English supporting cast members and, the bonus, direction by Douglas Sirk.

A serial killer is prowling London, placing ads in personal columns to attract his victims and taunting police with ghoulish poems. The flaming redhead, Ball, is dangled as bait by the police after she suspects a close friend was his most recent victim.

  The upper peninsula of Michigan around Copper Harbor is nice if you can stand cold winters and snow until the climate changes.

    won out for the milder climate; it's on the edge of the dry(ing) zone and it has a big-city atmosphere in a relatively small size. And there's the BBQ...
    Detroit popped up on our radar, too, but it's a little too edgy for us old coots.

- FYI, Mischa Auer was the grandson of Leopold Auer - Jay Buridan 05:29:25 09/20/20 (0)
  The great Hungarian violinist and pedagogue who taught at the conservatory in St. Petersburg. Tchaikovsky wrote his violin concerto for Leopold Auer.
