hard to resist and most viewers appreciate them more than nuanced performances such as that of Frances McDormand's in, "Nomadland." Not a judgment, just an observation: chewing scenery always wins over thoughtful.
Follow Ups:
I get that...I liked Nomadland a lot and I love Fraces McDormand. Most of Pieces of a Woman reminds me of Cassavetes' A Woman Under the Influence with Gena Davis. Trust me...I'm not frequently swayed by the overdramatic vs subtle performances. I would vote for Kirby in a Stanislavski minute.
