re: B du B, Bresson's style was just developing so, if for no other reason than to see a genius evolving his language, the film is worthwhile.
This is, of course, to damn it with faint praise. Let me be clearer: this film is a brilliant, truly modern expose of bourgeois sentiment. I thought the "dancer" was very well played, her role being the sentimental key to the film. The unctuous French leading man was perfectly underplayed, too.
