I had a bad memory about this film and I waned to find out why and so did I.
I was too young, simply put, too young and blind.
What a fantastic film, how wise, how well played, photographed, and all the rest.
Even barbara Steel, our little sexy vampire stand to her task.
Fellini why are you dead.
Follow Ups:
I can't watch the opening sequence enough --- sometimes I put it on and just watch the first 10 minutes. I always seem to notice something I didn't see before.

Just revisited "Juliet of the Spirits" after 30 years and was wowed by that; there's a fantasy scene in a garden where Fellini has painstakingly constructed Venus standing in a large seashell, a scene that lasts the blink of an eyeI owned a Fiat 2300 about the time I 1st saw the film; there's one in the first few seconds of 8 1/2 ( IIRC the car Marcello M. is trapped in is one ) and a Fiat 2300 wagon in "Juliet"
Brought back some memories *sigh* Austere on the outside, but one of the great cars of the 1960's; sheer luxury, a delight to drive

Well I wonder,,,
I'm just wading through a 6 laser disc set of Godards early short films; one scene ( quite possibly unintentionally ) is hilarious with a Ms. Bardot looking very tired and bored; she can't remember her lines, she looks uncomfortable in her own skin...

Back then I would have looked VERY confortable in HER skin...
and now, I'm the one that's "washed up"!
