In the pantheon of great made-for-TV westerns it still stands tall in my book. What an incredible concentration of acting talent on the tube: Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Angelica Huston, Frederick Forrest, Danny Glover, Chris Cooper.
Follow Ups:
A howlingly bad job of playing Blue Duck.
I'd add Rocky Schroeder to your list, he did a fine job as well.
"Poor People have been voting for Democrats for the last 50 years.......and they are still poor."
So sayeth Charles Barkley
I debated whether to add Ricky Schroder but I don't know anything of note he's done as a mature actor. He was exceptionally good as a kid playing his age in LD. As far as Forrest, I may have been momentarily blinded by his body of work with Coppola over the years, plus his star turn in Hammett.
James Garner, Sissy Spacek, Kevin Bacon, Randy Quaid, George Carlin...
"More" of everything, more humor, more action, better cinematography than "Dove"

I mean, sorry, but, I respectfully and vehemently disagree.
