...from the past with Aboriginal themes in case you missed them.
Rabbit Proof Fence
Walkabout
Follow Ups:
Down here we have been quietly producing some excellent films over the last few years.
Amongst those with Aboriginal... issues... you must add Ten Canoes:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466399/
and Jindabyne:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382765/
Of course there have been many more very good Aussie films recently but these especially Ten Canoes, have the indigenous relevance.
I caught a few films at a local Native film festival and Ten Canoes was one of them, after that initial viewing I bought the DVD and haul it out for anyone who has not seen it.

Have you seen Look Both Ways?
Little Fish?
3 Dollars?
These have not all topped best of lists but do show a considerable strength.
We are more than a cheap resource with good sunshine for big time movies although those do pay a lot of bills.

as one of the best 50 of all time. The quality of four or five actors has never been surpassed. Great writing, story-telling, editing... all of it. I've watched it countless times and never have tired of it.
"They mutilated him....... with KNIVES!"
My wife enjoyed this line. What else could he have been mutilated with?
Spoons?
Twigs?
