Now this may just be my luck at having the time to go during the day, even the 10.00AM screenings, but I love going to the cinema.
I belong to 2 cinema clubs to get discounts and free tickets and the local World Cinema Club... a minimum of 2 tickets per film for 12 films a year plus a couple of freebies and all for $60.
I go to advance screenings which seem to be less popular than after the release and I have a great time in not too full theatres and can more or less always have my favourite seat (D11 depending on theatre).
I just about NEVER rent DVDs but do buy them when I see something interesti8ng whether it is a film or TV series.
I hardly watch free to air and have 30 something cable channels where I watch mainly football, lifestyle shows and a couple of cri8me series.
I have tried free to air but 6 minute ad breaks including news bulletines in a 30 minute programme don't make me a happy camper.
I also love news radio.

I really only watch TV as and when it is on and half what I watch is live football from Europe.
Probably 30% is anyway.
Do you record something and then watch it later with the ads taken out?
else to watch at my convenience and fast forward through commercials. DVRs are great.

Are there that many shows worth watching?
I increasingly find myself in the same camp as those who say there is too much music/video/entertainment around.
Do these recorders automatically edit the adverts or do you just fast forward through them?
I totally agree that sports needs to be live.
Luckily the Fox sports channels only have breaks at half time during soccer matches.
but the networks and advertisers insisted that feature be removed. You have to fast forward through them. As for enough to watch, I don't know.
I'm more concerned about being able to watch when I want than volume of programming. Mine is never more than 30% full but I wouldn't do without it.
DVRs, GPS systems and Cellphones are the most useful advancements I've encountered in the last 20 years.
