I have read such excellent critics as seldom on an Hollywood film.

OK, it's a brave attempt to adapt a short story about a guy that lives his life backwards ( about as easy as making a credible film of Kafkas "Metamorphosis" )Filmmaker has risen to the challenge with some great cinematography + some equally great acting; but ultimately comes across as "Disney twee" + way too slick a production ( as well as being W-A-A-Y too long! )
I didn't like this enough to want to see it again + really don't know what all the fuss is about
If the critics are going Ga-Ga over this film, we need new critics

maybe with an hour cut out of it, it would be tolerable...maybe not.
If you like Brad Pitt without a shirt riding a motorcycle, if you like very slow talking, or if you are a real student of video effects, you might like it. I didn't.
The music is quite good though.
PS: And I donīt like BP with or without..

our views need not be the same...many critics liked this movie, which is why I saw it. So maybe it will be your cup of tea.
Much much better for me was Man on Wire, the documentary on Phillipe Petit. I've seen it twice and will see it again.

not a very interesting guy, it's just another daredevil stunt.
but I have yet to see a movie of his with real heart.
Except for one director friend I don't know a single person who liked or was touched by this film.
The reviews it got here were very mixed (many of the positive ones were only lukewarm).
All that said I will see it for the filmmaking and performances.

Well if you start on this foot you certainly wonīt like it..You will miss the magic, if magic there is, our anti-Semit in residence, who curiously has most a good taste ( because he agrees with me ) with films, said it is good.
So...
I'll still give it a fair chance.The main reason I haven't seen it yet is the almost three hour (including previews) length.
I know a lot of people who know and/or have worked with Fincher and their basic reaction to BB is usually.... "Well... "

in reverse and it is powered by several very good performances. It is entertaining but also provides a bit of intellectual stimulus which can lead to interesting post-viewing conversation. What more can one ask of Hollywood? It's long but it didn't drag, for us. Brad is quite good, too, and shows he can carry a film. He's on screen just about the entire film.
Yes that is what I was hoping it to be!
I will see it even if Forest Gump spoils it...
