Working off yer themese, I'll add,
First, this isn't an addition, just a comment, Lost I America is simply genius. I'll never tire if it. The Nest Egg Concept rules.
To your Christopher Guest and Michael McKean movies I'd add The Princess Bride and The Brady Bunch Movie
Any scene with The Dude in it from Lebowiski brings a smile to my face. I believe that would be every scene but 1 in the movie. I crave "Caucasians" and satisfy the craving for days afterwards. The Dude abides.
If we're talking Billy Murray then we're talking The Rutles and Caddyshack.
And if we're talking Caddyshack were talking golf and we're talking Tin Cup, the movie Kevin Costner was born to star in.
And if we're talking Kevin Costner, then, wait, Tin Cup was it.
John Cusack flicks? Better Off Dead. We still call em "Fraunch Fries" at the house. High Fidelity rules, however, in the Cusack comedic ouvre.
Guilty pleasure? Blind Date. "Is this a new car". "Yea, just got it home from the dealer". "RALPHHHHHGGGHHHHHHH." It had some moments.
Others:
Office Space
Go
L.A. Story
Ruthless People
Get Shorty
Big Trouble (I'm no Tim Allen fan but the rest of the cast was just terrific). Gator Fans!!!!
Two Days In The Valley
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Heaven Can Wait

which I think is an Oscar worthy performance.
I debated putting in Lost In Translation, which I'm not quite sure is a comdey...although it is very good, and Murray is great in it.
If you put " High Fidelity ! on your list, then You can put this one too!
but more than a few smile worthy moments. Lost in Translation that is.
I wonder if I would get banned here if I mentioned Idiocracy in the same breath as some of these other, very worthy movies?
+ the best scene in High Fidelity was left out of the film ( ! )
GW
...it doesn't advance the plot. That's why.
But it sure is nice to have.
And I coulda had The Sure Thing and Better Off Dead on there too.
I love that bit from High Fiedlity. As a record collector, I just related so much to that movie, and I used to make compilation tapes for all my friends too.
