Anyone seen it? I hope to see it this weekend with the wife and Scarlett.

Follow Ups:
Spoilers***, and all only my opinion and that of a few who went with me (ages of 17, 18, 19, 43, 45).
We thought it was pretty darn entertaining.
Good amount of action, proper amount of interaction...
Downey was quite good, entertaining.
Although not necessarily a fan, Rourke was good as was his character in the movie. We mostly thought his part should have played a larger role displacing Hannon.
And again although not necessarily a fan in the other way, I thought the secret agent (Scarlett Johanssen?) was pretty hot in the movie. The end of the fight scene where the guy takes out one guy and her a dozen was extremely obvious, but still semi-funny. The fight scene was maybe a bit long with her, a bit short in the final fight with Rourke.
I didn't get how all of a sudden Downey and Paltrow were attracted to eachother, but whatever.
Overall definitely worth seeing.
...entertaining comic book fare, even if it sags somewhat in the middle.
CAUTION: Spoilers alert.I liked the movie overall (***/***** - three of five stars), but it seemed very uneven and had some real pacing problems. The uncomfortable (and IMO unnecessary) strawberry scene between Tony Stark (Downey) and Pepper Potts (Paltrow) went on far too long and didn't advance the story very much. Add to that the fact that Tony Stark's treatment of Pepper Potts was inconsistent (at times genuinely appreciative, at others dismissive or sexist, but never romantic) and made the whole idea of him handing her the reins of his corporate empire less plausible.
Also, I didn't feel that there was much chemistry between these characters, at least enough to create any sense of emotional involvement between them; there was more in the first film. By the time Pepper found out that Tony Stark was supposed to be dying, her grief and anger over learning about it seemed totally forced. Also, the cure for his life threatening malady seemed far too easy in light of his own theoretical brilliance and failure to find a remedy on his own.
On the up-side, Scatlett Johnansson's Black Widow character was quite effective in her scenes, with very clever and tightly choreographed fights from both her driver's and her perspective. The scenes of Natashia in the guise of the Black Widow and her tough "body guard" storming Justin Hammer's secured building were some of the best scenes in the film, IMO, with flawlessly executed editing and an appropriate element of humor. While her scenes may not have advanced the plot that much, they did improve the film.
The FX were quite good, but nothing exceptional in this day and age. From the outset I had problems with the villain. Why the heavily armed Grand Prix security didn't take Ivan Vanko out with a head-shot while he was demolishing race cars and drivers is beyond me. They certainly had plenty of time and opportunity since, outside of Vanko's strength and the weapons he used, he was totally unprotected.
The battle scenes were well staged, and Marvel Studio's production values are quite high, but this is my least favorite film by the studio since they started handling every aspect of their properties. Still, it's good eye-candy and deserves reappraisal after it comes out on BD.
Note: Those who hung around until the credits finished rolling got a short teaser scene hinting at the next great Marvel character being groomed for franchise.
Finally, a bit of nit-picking over the credits: I loved the inclusion of the original Bon Scott sung Highway to Hell over the end credits, but was disappointed to see this song credited to Angus Young/Malcolm Young/Brian Johnson when the credits should have read Angus Young/Malcolm Young/Bon Scott. Brian Johnson didn't join the group until after Bon Scott's death and the release of the Bon Scott's last album with AC/DC, the breakthrough LP Highway To Hell. This may just be a mistake by some clueless folks at the studio, but it should be corrected.
Cheers,
AuPh

Some badly needed voluptuousness for the series. In a few scenes her waist to hip ratio seemed to touch 50%, outstanding, but probably a girdle under the leathers. Her amazing looping, spinning moves were as amazing as her looks. If you have to have a lib in the president's office, why couldn't it be her?

Yup, the film snob had a good time at IM2...partly because she's a rabid RD fan, partly because the film is handsomely mounted and mostly because the cast is excellent - Mickey Rourke, Garty Shandling and Sam Rockwell are a hoot. Downey is brilliant...again. It's as logical as any other comic book movie...and I tend to think most of 'em have been way over-praised. There is just a bit too much Nick Fury stuff re the next franchise shoveled in there. A minor sin IMO. Scarlett Johansson looks great but I want more Pepper! Cheadle is good as the new Rhodey
The first one was a charming surprise, no one was expecting it to be as good as it was, and origin stories are inherently appealing. IM2 is a middle chapter. Favreau isn't brilliant at staging big action scenes, but he's good at getting at character motivations. I like that he has Tony Stark addicted not to alcohol but to being The Iron Man Hero. And I loved Favreau as Happy Hogan. It's big and noisy but IM2 isn't DUMB.
FX are cool. Very Cool.
It ain't Shakespeare but it's fun and the A-list actors are all on. Go see it and have a good time - don't worry about the nay-sayers
(really mindless) it was just OK. Even the action had no merit, nothing mattered. It was just really loud with phony/cutesy dialogue. I know this is the way Hollywood makes movies but I hoped it would make some sense. The first Ironman was quite a bit better IMO...

Scarlet is HOT, HOT,HOT!!!!!!!!, in this one Leaves Gwyneth in the dust.
I saw it on Sat 5/8/10 at the local IMAX. I thought the first Iron Man was better by a decent margin. In comparison, the fun was missing from this one IMO. Dialogue and plot seemed to wander aimlessly at times and some of the CGI and effects didn't add to the overall experience. Clearly, this version is geared to the Marvel fanboy crowd esp considering the teaser stuck near the end of the ending credits. I appreciated this treat a lot less than most of those who stayed behind. OTOH the Imax presentation was impressive to the point that it more-or-less "saved" the film for me. This is sad, very sad only!
Speaking of fanboys, my showing was apparently filled with them. The guy in front of me was texting someone every 5min and it was totally annoying. I finally ended up "accidently" kicking the back of his seat. He seemed startled but got the message. And he wasn't alone in the practice. I don't get the logic of paying a premium for a major film (major in the sense of potential revenues earned) on its opening weekend and then spending considerable time messing around with a cell phone. Guess I'm getting old.

I didn't intend to leave the impression that IM2 was total junk, just that the first one was better. I suspect that IM1 was geared to a more general audience and not Marvel fanboys. IM2 was entertaining, esp in the IMAX presentation and was certainly better than some recent releases I thought were really bad such as Crash of the Titans .
I agree the first was much better.
