I remember my old college days. Us guys standing in line to see Star Wars. The line wrapped around the theater. We all bragged on how many times we saw it. I saw it about 7 or 8 times. Others saw it 20 times and had much of the dialog memorized, while it was still at the theater. It was a phenomenon.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along

You are proving Jazz' point.
I paid once to take my then young daughter to it... that was more than I could handle.

I saw it a few times when it came out, too. Now I cringe when I catch parts of it on TV.
McDonalds and Lady Gaga are popular too.

'acting' that would make 'wooden' something to strive for. And amazingly, even after all the years that passed, Lucas seems to have learned nothing about real film making-if anything, the follow up movies were worse! Either that, or he didn't want to break the spell of the first two with real writing and an acting coach.
Could probably sit through the first Star Wars again, but I wouldn't even attempt that with the latest ones. Just horrible.

Agree, but Sat Morning Serials were the Model. But nothing like had ever been seen before, and the Effects WERE the show. The new ones were just horrible, and Lucas seems to be an idiot underneath it all!
can't make a decent movie to save his soul. Not that he probably cares. I'd guess the term 'revenue generator' has replaced 'movie' at Lucas Inc.

I've seen Star Wars and The Godfather enough times.
Throne of Blood with a nod to Macbeth. George Lucas credits it to Star Wars.
