People often switch to singing in Love Songs, French film on love, relationship, death and life after your loved ones have departed. That, and endless beautiful Paris scenery creates soft and pleasant environment, unable to hide the pain and despair.
The film was a tug-along, suggested by the Netflix on the coattails of Swimming Pool, it stars the delectable Ludivine Sagnier and pre-Raphaelite Louis Garrel, whom I normally can't stand, but he is not exactly irritating here. As an added bonus Chiara Mastroianni gives very human and touching performance.
Am I going soft? Well, after some total crap like Valhalla, and even worse - Severed Ways... this was a welcome change.
Follow Ups:
I disclaim all responsibility for this.. you merely asked for "Gore" I didn't see where it had to come with a good movie..
Was the Cinematography not at least visually interesting.
I watch so many old Black and White Films Modern Cinematography is still a novelty for me.
...for late night viewing. But thanks for reminding me - I am glad I purged the queue of that total godawful dreck! :)
Too bad it brought with it Severed Ways - so you now owe me seeing that one!
Be forewarned - the bowel movement scene is something to write home about.

...you have to be in mood for it. I like Mads Mikkelsen's movies, the latest I saw was Adam's Apple - check it out, very unusual.
certainly one badass neo-nazi. It's funny how there was lots of dark humor but nearly sickening when the mood turned to violence. Those Scandos sure can make a movie about people.
Check out "The Inheritance" and "Fear Me Not" for two really good Thomsen films.
