    "my boyfriend tossed my salad last night"
    
    I had to look that up and I'm pretty darn liberal.
    
    Times sure have changed since I was in grade 9. And that was 8 years ago - now it's probably a conversation in grade 6. jeez

  The soundtrack was 80s techno pop and rock like Billy Idol and New Order and Prince. Other pop culture references were 80s movies like The Shining and Back to the Future. One assumes 16 year olds today must be pretty hip if they get all those 80s pop culture references.

    He wanted to expand the film's demographics beyond the young movie-goers.

      The movie - like the book - is for adults. But also for teens, who are much hipper than adults were at that age.
