Oh so tempting if I trade in my Playstation 2 and a bunch of games I'll never play again, I could net the PS/3 + 5 B-D movies for around $400 which is comparable to the price of my Toshiba HD DVD player. But $400 is still real money!

I assume you would get a 30 day guarantee. If it isn't working out for you, return it.
Go for it if thats what you want. I'm not a gamer, and don't want a console. There are other players for the same price. The question is, will you watch the movies? I'm generally not a fan of most blockbusters, though my wife likes some. I picked up the G2 Samsung, and have 4 titles coming from Amazon. I don't foresee a whole lot of BD purchases for me, but there may be a few catalog titles I'll pick up here and there. Most of my purchases will still be HD DVD, I just prefer their titles.
enjoy,
Jack
I'm still mulling this over, and I'll admit that at the moment, there are really no PS/3 games that seem particularly interesting, and of Blu-Ray exclusive movies, most seem like the sorts I'd rather rent than purchase. I guess I have several weeks to decide before the free movie offer expires.
The 5 freebies had no effect on my decision to buy. I haven't filled out the form yet, and I suspect I won't watch any of them for a long time-some maybe never.
