...most BDs will look better - especially from filmsourced material. The Oppos does an excellent job of upscaling but HD is better, even at 720p.
How big is your set?

Your Mits IS 720p. Not the highest resolution currently available but definfitely HD compatible and much better PQ than 480p.
Personally, I would wait for BD players a bit as better players will be coming down the pike very soon now that the format war is over. But you can enjoy a version of HD now if you so choose with either cable, sat or over the air.

Cable can't compete with Satellite for HD broadcasts.
