was to control the audio out volume to my Marantz on the SA box with a remote. I now realize this is not possible as the Marantz is the amp controlling the audio to the speakers. As you said, the bluray is no issue as I can pause it. Anyway, I adjusted the audio out on the TV to be variable(ie, turns itself down for commercials) so if I have at least 1/3 of the total sound coming from the set itself the commercials are tolerable...
The other alternative I guess would be to run all the audio through the TV which is problematic as I can't access the back to well at this point(wall mounted)
PS I've watched several blu-ray movies now and I love this set so far!
thanks

This makes no sense. The remote for the SA box will control the volume from the SA box if set up correctly. I had thought you were trying to control the volume from the BluRay player with the SA box volume control!!!
How, exactly, are things connected?
Kal
The set up is as follows: Cable in to SA cable box, HDMI out to Plasma. Audio out (RCA audio cable) to Marantz tape 2 in. Remote speakers connected to Marantz. So far, cable remote only controls the TV speaker volume, not the remote speakers.
It would be nice to lower or mute all the speakers with the remote....
Seems like an issue with the Plasma. Why not run HDMI to plasma and RCAs from SA box to Marantz?
Kal
thanks
