"I am quite disappointed at the members of this form."
You said you wanted to know if anyone made a CRT television, and added that the best picture you ever saw was on a Sony.
Now excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't it be logical and very, very simple to find out if Sony still made CRT televisions?
Not rocket science to find out - I just Googled 'Sony CRT television' and yes, Sony do still make them surprise surprise.
I really am quite disappointed with a certain member of this forum!

Odd that they don't mention them on their web-site. I see no evidence that they still make them.

rick m,
I'm a big fan of the 32" Sony I bought in 2005 and would swear I still saw this model at Fry's about 6-8 months ago. However, while poking around on this topic I saw somewhere- I can't find it again- that Sony stopped making CRT's in March, 2008.
One oddity is that I saw 2 Bizrate pages with a long list of various Sony CRT's, then when ckinking on "more info" it says "we're sorry, no stores are carrying that item.
It seems to me there should be NOS around still for the serious glass enthusiast.
Cheers,
Bambi B
Yep, according to Wikepedia Sony stopped making the Trinitron last year, but they still seem to be around in UK stores and of course can be found used on Ebay and even in Amazon stores.
Still doesn't alter the fact I was wrong so I'm going away to hide for a few days.......
could not find any sony 32" widescreen.
Next time you want a specific answer, ask a specific question.
Rather than: "I hate LCD TV's ...does anyone still make tube (crt) based TV?"
Try this instead: "Does Sony still make a wide-screen 32" CRT ?"
The answer would have occupied a lot less space on the forum ...but would not have been nearly as entertaining. On second thought, ignore my advice.
