I dont know Im not interested in the amps that trade features for whats suppose to be in it wt wise. some make them lighter to include more features. this is not what I saw from denon last amp. ones 140 watt the other more expensive is just 150 watt. but with an impressive 20 lbs more. Ive looked at a few mid priced receivers to upgrade to. they weigh less than what I own. so I was impressed at the 20 lbs more rec.theres something in it that I bet will make it sound better than the other one. I really cant help you much but you will get either the totl or the one under it. I would at least try to find out why the other ones so much heavier. the extra 10 watt amp will give some wt but 20 lbs?

I would almost suspect it is computer generated.
As for Denon. I am on a mission.
I bought a high-end universal player ($1400, I got it for $700 from a friend who had a dealership) from them that gave me no end of trouble. After over $400 worth of repairs and it still didn't work I threw it in the dumpster. I contacted them on mutiple occassions and got diddley.
I also bought a high-end pair of headphones from them. Luckily the lefthand phone broke off before the warranty was still in effect. I of course had to pay shipping.
I like to buy used bd players because I dont know how long they will last. so I bought the 2nd generation panasonic bd10 there bd/dvd audio players they retailed for $600.00 got them used at ebay for under $100. I bought 3 of them. only 2 get used. I always wanted to try denon but never did. ive got panasonic dvd players dating to 2000 that work today so I stayed with that brand. Ive stayed with brands that are trouble free.others are onkyo amps & dvd audio changer & an oppo player but it does not get played much & kyocera amps.the kyocera amps are 25 years old & get played every day. its strange that they work so well.
I dont like getting anything repaired so the best quality hi end sound is not what I care about. I use an external dac for 2 channel that helps some.

sorry I should of explained better.I have a $1000 onkyo receiver that does not have hdmi. there was an online mag that was called trading features for amplification. I only compared an hdmi rec for the same price. they are not the same. the new one is 7 channels mines 6 channel The new one weighs less & uses less power but there the same 100 watts. so to get close to the same specs & wt I have to go to the next model that is $400.00 more. plus Its more wattage. the cases are the same size. but the more expensive one has a different face plate.some one here has one of the newer ones complaining about clipping at loud volumes. I also have the 5.1 that was $600.00 the $1000.00 has the same wt as the 5.1 & its 7 channels.
I dont know what they did to the sound but they got more features:} I like that denon rec but to much money for me.
