because the screen is larger. They're thinner, use less energy and come in all sizes and are still manufactured.
However, I love to stare at the images of the Panasonic, especially for nature programs.

How large a screen to you own. My largest Viera is 65 inches.

And you can lift the screen yourself to install? It was one of my requirements.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to attempt mounting a 65" plasma by him or herself. Anything above 50" would be a challenge. That's what friends are for.My question remains...any recommendationof an LCD that matches plasma for realistic picture quality. I've seen a bunch and none compare. I certainly have only seen a small percentage of those that are out there.
