It would depend on if there are issues with the new set, and how one values their time and hassle factor. Between shipping damage, stuck/dead pixels. and buzzing, there is a fair amount of potential hassle-much will depend on the store's policies.
I too am very interested, and hope he tells us how things come out.

Edit: I don't think you can buy the Elites online, and they certainly aren't as cheap either.
