Not what I read or saw

There have been 2 recent reviews of the Panny 35/55. One in Home Theater mag by Kris Deering of Secrets of HT website fame. He specifically stated the Pannys 35/55 had one of the best BD PQ's going and previous models 30/50 were lacking in DVD PQ but not anymore with the new 35/55. His quote, " You would truly be hard-pressed to find better video performance with Blu-ray and DVD playback at any price."

I own the 55 and I think the 35/55 is amazing with what it does for DVD over HDMI. BD PQ is fantastic as well. Cannot say what it does in synergy with a KURO. The Panny 35/55 is OOP and hard to find and prices are generally higher on them than they were 6 months ago. New models have been announced and Crutchfield is taking pre-orders. One the surface, the only difference in the new units is some streaming and VOD capability.
