Heat generation is an issue.
Honestly, You will need to audition options with your speakers in your environment to sort it out. Hypex amps have excellent specs ,and don't generate any heat. Legacy Audio makes a Class D amp that should match up with your speakers.
Most of the Class D amps I've heard all sound very good, but not sure you will notice any improvement from what you have now. You may not even like it as much. One thing I've learned over the years is that one needs some time to evaluate the strong points and shortfalls of a given setup.
