The only one that sounded "bad" to me was the Hypex buffer, (don't recall which op amp it uses). All the other op amps I tried in the VTV buffer were extremely similar and none changed the character of the Purifi 1ET400A modules. In fact they were so similar the differences might have been my imagination.
People state their preferences as if they were absolutes, but if conclusions pertain to a subjective listening or a single trial, or time of day, or listener's fatigue or state of mind, then differences may be said to be listen's imagination regardless anything else.
As for ABX trials, differences may exist even if the listener cannot distinguish them in such a test, BUT such difference are likely to be extremely small.
