Here it is.
And so much so much fun to see it is after all I saw incredible.
The best of the best.
Follow Ups:
Loved it..... too bad they cut it and Deadwood to just 2 seasons 'cause they could not afford them and dealing with the greedy bastards on the series Sopranos, which became garbage after the 2nd or 3rd season.

The best!
I nearly wept when The Wire ended. Awesome television, awesome.
....I've spent many an hour watching, sometimes via the box-sets, and been almost in a depression when they've ended have been;
Dexter.
Battlestar Galactica.
Heroes (but went downhill - was a little like watching a loved relative contract Altzeimers.)
JailBreak (see above).
House.
True Blood.
Today is a gift - that's why it's called the Present.
Best Regards,
Chris Redmond.
Battlestar Galactica....Are you sure?
This name comes often...
There was this terrible film, but??
Have you see Wooster & Jeeves?
Was Jeeves & Wooster Hugh Lawrie and Stephen Fry? If not I haven't seen it.
Battlestar does seem to polarize opinion but I find it to be great drama with strong characters which also happens to be sci-fi.
Yes the one with Fry.
Not sure if you know of or have seen, but Stephen Fry and Hugh Lawrie had a long standing comedy series in the UK called 'A bit of Fry and Lawrie' and the Jeeves and Wooster series was a spin off of this, and basically a vehicle for this partnership.
Today is a gift - that's why it's called the Present.
Best Regards,
Chris Redmond.
I know but I have not seen it. Still in the middle of Jeeves...
But I look at the sketch and it seem funny, Thank you for the tip.
Now I will find out if they got this CC titles, I need.
If you go to YouTube and search for 'A bit of Fry and Lawrie' there are dozens of sketches for your perusal Patrick.Edit: Lawrie is spelt Laurie.

Best Regards,
Chris Redmond.

...tops my list, followed "equally" by: Star Trek, The Twilight Zone (original by Rod Serling), Kung Fu, and Then Came Bronson (Michael Parks).
I left TV viewing mid-90's for the most part, although Married With Children reruns seem to hold my interest better now than when they first aired.
Honorable mentions: I Love lucy, The Smothers Brothers, and Flip Wilson.
Most haunting intro theme song: opening to The Jackie Gleason Show.
But maybe tied by the original Twilight Zone, which was more variable than The Prisoner and did include some distinct "misses".
I just got the Blu-Ray incarnation of The Prisoner - fabulous!

Just got the volume four.
Excellent.
...since the new remade TV series got panned, and I'm enjoying watching them again.
It reduced the stunning original concept to a soap opera. AMC ought to be ashamed of themselves!
the original's standards - almost glad McGoohan didn't have to see his vision minced into psychological piffle, if what I've read is true.
based on how happy I was when I watched it. Rip Torn was amazing as Larry's producer which helped a lot. It has been quite a few years since I watched one, I wonder if I would still love it as much.
HBO's Six Feet Under and Deadwood were very good as well.
Mad Men is very good but for some reason does not quite capture me like the HBO shows I'm not sure why.
I think the Sopranos was good as well but it got watered down at the end of the run and I hated the subject matter so much (at least the violence in Deadwood was about survival so a bit easier to watch) I do not include it.
thanks
Phil
Best is such a slippery and subjective thing.
My faves..
China Beach
Piece of Cake
Brideshead Revisited
Star Trek (all of it)
Testament of Youth
Darling Buds of May
Brideshead is more than excellent.
Now Star Treck is anothet league...

plus "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "The Sopranos" (both with consistent, excellent acting even when the scripts slipped).
Also: "Monty Python's Flying Circus" for innovation and having a profound affect on my teenage mind.
“ Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination. ” -Michael McClure
I thought the Sopranos started with a good idea, but fell apart after the first couple seasons. Edie Falco gave a consistently fine performance, though.
The Wire is altogether superior. That thing is a miracle. We may never see anything like it again. Brilliantly written, directed, photographed, and the acting is about as good as it gets. Never sentimental or preachy. A great piece of work by everyone involved.
David Simon has started another series in Louisiana.
I agree completely. The Wire is beyond reproach.
Also check out David Simon's miniseries Generation Kill. I'm really looking forward to the the New Orleans series (it's about jazz musicians!).

'Extras' and 'The Thick Of It' are so far above average or normal television comedy as to be completely in a league of their own and are the television by which other comedy shows must be judged.
Season 1 of 'The Wire' is also a bench mark for television drama and crime shows, especially in light of the number of shitty crime/police dramas on television right now.
'Larry Sanders' is a total masterwork...end of story.

Baba-Booey to you all!
..well even if you're not, I say "Curb Your Enthusiasm" edges out BBC's "The Office" with the sole deciding factor being longevity. Had The Office kept going as well as it's two year run it's the winner but we will never know. Two near perfect series.
Baba-Booey to you all!
Comedy - Seinfeld
Drama - The Shield
-Wendell
Although if you see it now, it has dated badly.
